Atas sebab-sebab yang tidak diketahui, Google telah membuang navigator "Scholar" di dalam muka carian mereka. Ini amat menyusahkan, memandangkan dahulu kita boleh klik pautan "Web" untuk carian umum dan "Scholar" untuk carian di Google Scholar. (Saya merasakan, ini kerana golongan akademik hanya segelintir kecil dari pengguna Google, sedangkan Google itu sendiri adalah produk PhD!) Kita boleh guna skript GreaseMonkey dari sini . Cara install dalam Google Chrome: Tools -> Extension Kemudian, tarik(drag) script javascript itu ke tengah-tengah paparan skrin dan drop. Plugin tersebut akan dipasang. Restart semula browser chrome anda.

Musing Since I got this tiny meenie D430 Lattitude now I always "read" downloaded PDF files while I rest on the sofa, or simply on the floor back home. Usually I checked for Mannheim PDF reports... seems they actively put their research works for e.g in the recent DIMVA 2008 . Apart from that UC Davis, or some other institution which have works on botnet/malware countermeasure, honeypot/net, security visualization (just recently since Bro Adli point it out) .. etc. I'm hardly to understand cryptographic stuffs due to several reasons..though I already took it once. It seems very theoretical which some other geeks might find that interesting, but not me. Usually I'll focus on the application part... but of course who knows I'll find the love on cryptography soon.

Studying in Japan Just want to share what I read since I surf around comparing the style of postgraduate studies across different developed nations. I dropped to this ACM page And somehow looking at the writings it seems that the concentration of study in Japan is the best on hardware computing but seems not for the "soft computing" It is interesting to see that none of these milestones is attributable to a Japanese computer scientist. I quizzed a number of academics about this, and found there is really no curriculum content particular to CS courses in Japan. Although the Japanese are world leaders in electronics, they have a tendency to follow rather than lead when it comes to software technology. But instead of being called as "follower", how's Japan performed compared to UK? Or the other European countries?
